Lots of talk today about Saints punishment for Bounty stuff being unfair. It feels like most people are missing the point. This is NOT about the Saints. This is about the giant elephant in the room - the coming concussion lawsuit(S). When Goodell is charged that the league encouraged a culture of risk taking and disregarding injury, Exhibit A will be “Really? Ask Sean Payton and Jonathan Vilma how serious we are about player safety”. Saints were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Is it fair? No. Is it how things work? Absolutely.
